DALLAS – Following back-to-back victories over Top 20 opponents, Rice sweeps this week’s C-USA Baseball weekly honors. Owls senior outfielder Andrew Dunlap batted .500 (8-for-16) with five extra-base hits, 11 RBI and eight runs scored in four games last week to earn the C-USA Hitter of the Week award for games ending March 3. The C-USA Pitcher of the Week honor went to Rice junior RHP Jackson Parthasarathy, who tied a career-long with 6.0 innings of work in the win over No. 17 TCU, holding Horned Frogs to just one earned run on five hits with seven strikeouts. All Conference USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World.

Dunlap went 8-for-16 (.500) with 11 RBI and eight runs scored in leading the Owls to a 3-1 record last week, including wins over No. 12 Baylor and No. 17 TCU. Dunlap knocked two home runs, a triple and two doubles for a 1.188 slugging percentage. He also maintained a .600 on-base average as Rice posted three wins in four games. Dunlap had a three-run double and a three-run homer in the same inning of a win over Prairie View A&M to begin the week.

Parthasarathy was sound and solid to earn a win over No. 17 TCU at hitter-friendly Minute Maid Park on Sunday night. He tied a career-long with 6.0 innings of work while holding the nationally-ranked Horned Frogs to just one earned run on five hits and two walks. Parthasarathy struck out seven to earn his second victory of the season, while lowering his ERA to 1.69.
